| FASHION MANNEQUINS When I was a child I had two very distinct nightmares that had mannequins as the subject. Not necessarily a vehicle to confront old fears, but rather a desire to photograph something new, I decided to photograph the mannequins of Manhattan. As a result of photographing at night when the store lights were off, the mannequins had an high contrast, eerie look. The photographs were taken in two main districts, 5th / Madison Avenues and Soho. On a recent trip to Tokyo I decided to continue the series of mannequins to include the Ginza and Omotesando fashion districts. London England followed, and the remaining two cities of Paris and Milan will complete the series, documenting the five fashion and design centers of the world. |
